Prints and Resolution
The most widely misunderstood concept related to printing photos is resolution. Some digital photographers shoot with their cameras' highest resolution, on the grounds that more pixels are better, while others use the lowest resolution so they can fit more photos on their memory cards. In either case, there's a better way. Pick the resolution you actually need and you'll get the best image quality without using up more space on your card (and your hard drive) than you have to. Most of the comments here about resolution apply equally well to shooting a picture or scanning a photo.
